A light cannot be judged from a product photo. Only switched on does it show how the glass breaks the light, how warm it falls, and how large the pool of light really is. We can show you many lights switched on in our showroom at Nüschelerstrasse 30 in Zurich – just let us know beforehand which model interests you, and we'll have it ready. You can come and look without an appointment.
Why Light Can Only Be Judged Switched On
Switched off, a light is an object; switched on, it's part of the room. The same glass looks warmer or cooler depending on the bulb; a structure that looks understated in daylight can cast a clear pattern on the ceiling in the evening. Glare, too, only shows itself in operation – whether you end up looking straight into the bulb depends on seating height and hanging height. In our showroom you can check this instead of guessing: sit down, look up, see the difference between two models side by side. You need no appointment for a first impression.

Settled Before You Order: Height, Outlet, Dimming
Three things decide whether a light ends up fitting. First, the hanging height: over a dining table that looks different than in a stairwell, and the ceiling height sets the limit. Second, the connection – where does the outlet sit, can it be moved, is there an alternative with a floor or table lamp? Third, dimmability, which has to match the bulb and the existing switch. We go through these points with you before you order, so no surprises wait on installation day. Delivery is Switzerland-wide; lights from current production need manufacturing time, which we give you with the quotation.

Where can I see lights switched on in Zurich?
At Nüschelerstrasse 30 in 8001 Zürich, in the Imperial Interiors showroom, a five-minute walk from the main station. We can show you many lights switched on – just let us know beforehand which model interests you, and we'll have it ready. Open Monday to Friday between 10 am and 7 pm and Saturday between 10 am and 6 pm, no appointment needed. Among others, we show Bomma, Melogranoblu and Natevo.

How high should a light hang over the dining table?
That depends on ceiling height, table size and the shape of the light – a slim pendant over a long table needs a different height than a wide shade in a tall room. What matters is that no one is dazzled and the view across the table stays clear. At Imperial Interiors we settle the height together with you in the consultation, before you order.
Do you deliver and install lighting throughout Switzerland?
Yes. Delivery and installation are handled throughout Switzerland by Imperial Interiors' own team. If a model is available, it usually goes out within 48 hours; lights from current production follow the manufacturer's production time, which we confirm with the quotation.
