For us, designer furniture isn't a style but a provenance: furniture from makers who take responsibility for a design – with a name, a date and a stance behind it. Since 2003 we have shown a deliberately small selection of such houses at Nüschelerstrasse 30 in Zurich: Italian beds and sofas by Flou, furniture with integrated light by Natevo, wardrobes by Dallagnese, lighting by Bomma and Melogranoblu. On 430 square metres, a five-minute walk from the main station – to look at, touch and try, without an appointment.

What designer furniture means to us
The term designer furniture is used broadly – for us it means something specific: furniture from makers who take responsibility for a design, rather than reproducing a shape. Behind it stand named designers, a year of creation, and manufacturing that follows the material rather than the season's calendar. In practice, that shows in two things: models stay in the range for years, and many can be configured in fabric, colour and finish rather than being sold off the shelf only. That's why we carry a small number of houses rather than many labels – and say openly when a design doesn't suit a room. Design comes from a few houses – not many labels
We deliberately carry a small number of houses that we can represent fully: Flou for textile beds, sofas and sofa beds – we represent the house exclusively in Switzerland –, Natevo for furniture with permanently built-in LED light, Dallagnese for wardrobes and living furniture, Bomma and Melogranoblu for lighting. Alongside these come DUXIANA, King Koil and our own label NUVOSETTE in the sleep department. A design icon in the collection: the Flou Nathalie bed
Anyone looking for designer furniture is often looking for a specific design. One belongs to our Flou range: Nathalie, drawn by Vico Magistretti in 1978. The bed was, according to flou.com, honoured with the Compasso d'Oro ADI in 2020 – in the category for a product's lifetime achievement, so not for something new, but for what a design has delivered over decades. What makes such a classic work in daily life reads poorly and tries well: the fully removable cover, the relationship between headboard and sleeping surface, the effect it has in a room. Planning designer furniture in the context of the room
A piece of designer furniture never works alone. Whether a sofa organises a room or blocks it depends on proportion, lighting and pathways – not on a catalogue photo. That's why every plan we make starts with the room: floor plan, window position, ceiling height, existing pieces that are staying. From that a concept emerges in which furniture, lighting and materials are matched to each other – from a single room to a complete concept. The initial consultation, a first visit to your home and the initial concept are free of charge and without obligation; advice is given in English, German, French and Italian. Where standard sizes don't fit, we plan bespoke work with our partners – including fitted wardrobes, kitchens and bathrooms.
Viewing, buying and having designer furniture delivered in Zurich
The showroom at Nüschelerstrasse 30 is a five-minute walk from the main station, open Monday to Friday 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday 10 am to 6 pm; trying the sofas and beds needs no appointment. Beds and many other products are available in stock – exactly what depends on the day, and we check on request. Delivery and assembly are handled Switzerland-wide by our own team, usually within 48 hours; when you buy a bed, we take the old one away at delivery free of charge on request and dispose of it properly. Larger purchases can be paid in two steps – part on order, the rest before delivery; items from stock go out as soon as payment is received.
