Box Spring, Spring System or Slatted Frame – Which Bed Supports You?
The showroom holds three bed systems side by side, and none of them is inherently the better choice. A box spring bed combines a sprung base with an upper mattress and usually a topper; it typically sits higher than a framed bed. DUXIANA's multi-layer spring systems work with several layers of springs stacked on top of each other instead of a rigid frame. Classic slatted-frame beds, such as those from Flou, combine a frame with a spring mattress; the individual parts can later be replaced separately. Which system suits you depends on your sleeping position, build, preferred height, and whether two people with different needs share the same bed. We walk you through all three options in the showroom, without steering you towards any one of them.
Trying It Out: The Only Test That Really Counts
A bed cannot be judged on a screen. So take your time and lie in the position you actually fall asleep in – not two minutes on your back because someone is watching. It matters to test the bed and mattress together: the base underneath changes how the same mattress feels. If you're buying for two, come as two; different builds often call for two different firmness levels in one bed.
