Buying a Wardrobe in Zurich – Wardrobe Systems and Fitted Walls

A wardrobe is the piece of furniture that can least be moved later on – which is why the decision is worth making with measurements and floor plan in view. At Nüschelerstrasse 30 in Zurich we show wardrobe systems by Dallagnese and work out with you whether a system wardrobe fits or whether the wall calls for bespoke work. We plan both in-house; delivery and assembly are handled Switzerland-wide with our own team.

System Wardrobe or Made to Measure – What Fits When?

A system wardrobe comes from a fixed programme: widths, heights, depths and interior layouts are pre-set, but can be combined within the system. That's enough as long as the wall is straight and the ceiling height stays within range. As soon as an alcove, a sloping ceiling, a chimney breast or an uneven floor comes into play, every programme reaches its limit – then we make it to measure with our partners Italian Fit Out and Schreinerei Sümi. Which route is the right one isn't decided by the catalogue but by measuring up. Bring photos and measurements, and we'll clarify it in the first conversation.

What's Inside a Dallagnese Fitted Wardrobe

Dallagnese has been manufacturing in Friuli since 1948 and divides its programme into the Night, Wardrobe and Living collections. Wardrobe stands for the cupboards: hinged and sliding doors, fronts in various finishes, plus interior fittings from the clothes rail through pull-outs to the shelf. The difference between two similarly looking wardrobes rarely lies in the front, but in what you operate every day – how quietly a sliding door runs, how softly a pull-out closes, how stable a shelf stays over its length. That's exactly what can be checked in the showroom, and that's exactly why our pieces are open to try.

From Measuring Up to the Fitted Front

When it comes to a whole wall, we come to you. The first visit to your home costs nothing, and neither does the conversation before it or the initial concept afterwards. On site we measure, check sloping surfaces, skirting boards and sockets, and note what needs to go inside – the layout follows the contents, not the other way round. After that you receive a quotation with a realistic date. Delivery, assembly and payment work the same as with all our furniture; details are on our services page.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy a wardrobe in Zurich?

At Imperial Interiors, Nüschelerstrasse 30 in 8001 Zürich, a five-minute walk from the main station. The showroom is open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm; you need no appointment for a first look. We show wardrobe systems by Dallagnese, and realise bespoke work with our partners Italian Fit Out and Schreinerei Sümi.

What does measuring up for a fitted wardrobe cost?

The initial consultation, a first visit to your home and the initial concept are free of charge; during it we get a picture and take initial measurements. The technical survey for manufacturing takes place once you commission the work and is included in the quotation. Part payment is available.

Can a wardrobe go under a sloping ceiling?

Yes, though rarely with a standard model. For alcoves, sloping ceilings and uneven walls, we make it to measure through our partners Italian Fit Out and Schreinerei Sümi. The basis is always an on-site survey; we give the production time together with the quotation.

Who delivers and assembles the wardrobe?

Delivery and assembly are handled by Imperial Interiors' own team, Switzerland-wide. For items in stock, delivery usually takes place within 48 hours; wardrobes in current production or bespoke work follow the production time, which we confirm with the quotation.
